Prism of Perspective

How we experience any given circumstance or situation is based on our perspective. Change your perspective, change your experience. This concept is fundamentally simple. Simplicity is the foundation that gives rise to the vastly complex experiences we have in our lives. Our life is an amalgamation of our experiences. Therefore, when we change our perspectives, we change our life. This understanding can be useful, especially when we are having an experience we don’t prefer. I’m sure many of you reading can attest that life has the potential to be full of unpreferred experiences. However, the opposite is just as true; life has the potential to be full of preferred experiences. This spectrum of potential exists simultaneously, and you have the capability of acting, thinking, and believing in them, all of them. Your perspective is your free will; it is your own. Perspective is one of the few things we truly have control over. We cannot control the weather, we cannot control traffic, we cannot control gravity, we cannot control other people, the list goes on. It is imperative that we focus on what we have control over and stop giving our power away to what we cannot. What I’ve titled The Prism of Perception can help illustrate this concept more clearly and how we can make choices that help us live a joyful life. … (Speaking of perspectives, what I am sharing with you is my perspective—that is all. It is not greater than your perspective; they are both equally valid, whatever they may be. I am choosing to go about things in this manner and share my perspective with others because it brings me joy to do so, and it also helps me better understand why I choose to view life this way. I have found this perspective to be empowering, and I desire to help empower others as well.)

First, we must understand that we are spirit; we are the energy of Source/God/All-That-Is manifested in the physical world. The physical world is created from the same energy as your Soul and Source. Separation is purely an illusion. From this space we create it all; every aspect of our lives is of our creation. It is not the creation of our physical mind or ego, but from what we may call our Higher Mind, also known as the Soul. This energy is then focused like a lens or a prism. The degree of focus or densification births the themes and aspects of our lives. It is you who are doing the focusing, playing with the different spectrums of light; however, most of us have forgotten this. There is nothing wrong or negative about forgetting, for it is a powerful experience with the potential to be extremely transformative. Your spirit is choosing the focus, and your beliefs and definitions of who and what you are what’s bending the light. Perhaps you have already reflected on your beliefs and definitions, perhaps not. No worries—you will always reflect, no matter what stage of life you are in. It is imperative that we do this investigation if we desire to Contact ETs and/or live more fully in the moment. One may begin by asking a few simple questions such as: What do I believe? What do I believe about myself? What do I believe about my relationships? What do I believe about my work? What do I believe about money? What do I believe about death? If you ask these questions or similar ones with honesty and integrity, you will learn much about yourself and the choices you make. You may not like what you see at first, you may have some “demons in the closet” but that’s okay. We are learning, we are growing, but we must be able to look ourselves in the mirror and own our lives if we want to change them. How do you know if you’ve changed after the self-investigation? Your thoughts, actions, and emotions will have changed as well.

Your thoughts, actions, and emotions are supported by your beliefs and definitions. They are the foundation holding up the walls, the ceiling, and the roof of the house of your life. You know the sayings “If you talk the talk, you must walk the walk” or “You are only worth as much as your word.” That’s because our actions are the true reflection of our beliefs. Yes, words are powerful; however, you may say you believe in one thing—such as service, success, respect, etc.—but if your actions are not in alignment, then your words have no value. You will know that your beliefs have changed when you act differently. When you align in this way, your emotions will have changed as well. Since you are acting differently, your thoughts will have changed as well. Your thoughts will always align with the personality you are choosing to act upon. You don’t need to figure it all out. The “new you” will have different patterns of thought as well. Like the famous Einstein example: if you are wondering how you will get to the solution, first you need to perceive that there is the potential for a solution and start acting as if you have found it or are confident that you are in the process of finding it. Then the solution will unfold in front of you. You may not have been able to see the solution before because the old personality was aligned and focused on the problem, not the solution. Therefore, it could only think thoughts that were in alignment with the problem. Now that you have shifted your perspective, the thoughts will come flowing in. Your brain will be more capable of receiving solution-oriented thoughts, like an antenna tuned to 1.618 FM, Solution Radio. Your emotions will reflect this new state of being as well.

Emotions and perspective are parallel. You must have a perspective to have an emotion. Depending on how you choose to perceive any given situation, you will generate a certain emotional reflection. For example, imagine being on a tall building. One with a perspective that they may fall to their death is likely to experience emotions of terror and weakness. We could see this personality clutching the railing with wobbling legs. Meanwhile, those who may have a perspective of being on top of the world or up in the clouds will likely experience emotions of awe and wonder. Same situation, totally different perspectives, emotions, and experiences. This may not be the greatest example, but it illustrates the point. There is no judgment here—only an example. I have been challenged with the irrational fear of heights. This is my challenge to embrace and transform.

If you find yourself in a state of fear with wobbling legs, give yourself the opportunity to understand that your perspective is only one of a multitude of perspectives, each valid and supported. Now what is your choosing? If you get a thrill and enjoy being afraid, then be afraid—own it, experience it to the fullest. If you prefer being at peace, be at peace and act like it. Align yourself with a personality by changing your perspectives, and everything will follow suit.
